FAQ
Common questions
Is there a free trial?
Yes. We offer a 14-day free trial of PlantPredict Core with full functionality. No credit card required. Contact us to get started.
What counts as a "user"?
A user is anyone who runs simulations or modifies project parameters. Viewer accounts—for stakeholders who only need to review results—are free and unlimited on every plan.
Can I add Pro extensions later?
Yes. You can start with Core and upgrade to Enterprise at any time to access Terrain Pro, Voltage Pro, Soiling Pro, and PlantPredict 3D.
How does PlantPredict compare to PVsyst?
PlantPredict is cloud-native with sub-hourly resolution, spectral mismatch modeling, and a full REST API / Python SDK. It runs concurrent simulations at scale without local hardware constraints.
Is there an API?
Yes. Every plan includes full REST API and Python SDK access. You can automate simulations, pull results programmatically, and integrate PlantPredict into your existing workflows.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a free trial?
Yes. We offer a 14-day free trial of PlantPredict Pro with full functionality. No credit card required. To get started, sign-up for a free account and look for the free trial button in the Subscriptions tab.
How does PlantPredict compare to PVsyst?
PlantPredict is a cloud-native alternative to PVsyst, built for utility-scale projects. It runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install, it works the same on Windows, Mac, and Linux, and every project saves to the cloud automatically. Simulations run concurrently on our hardware, so a large study is not limited by what your laptop can handle. It also covers cases PVsyst does not, such as terrain-following trackers, and Pro adds a REST API and Python SDK for teams that want to automate. The model itself is physics-based and has been independently reviewed by DNV, Black & Veatch, and Leidos.
Can I import my existing projects from PVsyst into PlantPredict?
Yes, PlantPredict has a tool that imports your existing PVsyst projects and translates them into native PlantPredict projects automatically. Upload a PVsyst project .zip, and your project (.PRJ) becomes a PlantPredict project. Each calculation variant (.VC#) becomes its own prediction. Modules (.PAN), inverters (.OND), weather (.MET), and 3D shade scenes (.SHD) all come across automatically. Learn more.
Is there an API?

Is there a discount for non-profits or educational institutions?
